Lovely Ladies

I was blessed to have dinner with these lovely ladies last week. It was a rare occasion to sit and chat all together.

I should have some profound words on the blessings of friends. Or a story to share testifying to true friendship. Or a funny story about how our conversations always end up being about boys. Or about how much I love them.

But words fail me tonight.

Then I had a photo shoot with these lovely ladies.
They are standing tall in a field right outside of town.

I caught them about 6:30 p.m. with the light shining from behind.

Happy Birthday

Today is my sister's birthday!
I just got home from a birthday feast at her house. We had steak, chicken, green beans, broccoli, Texas toast, grilled potatoes, pineapple, applesauce, cucumber salad, oreo ice cream dessert and chocolate sheet cake.

I gave her a framed and matted photo of this picture...
The quote on the bottom says "The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things."

I was so honored, she rearranged her decor in the living room and hung it up tonight. I think she liked it :)!!!

Her bday party included a walk to look at the neighbor's pool, science experiments and a bike ride. I know... we are a wild and crazy bunch :).

Road Trip Rules

1. Take Insurance Boy's Jeep.

Asking permission first is helpful, but not required.
2. Take a friend.
Someone with a sense of adventure is required.
Stick shift driving skills are helpful, but not required.
3. Take photos.
This rule is only optional when the Road Trip is a "high stress level-spur of the moment trip."
4. Take a different route.
The best road trips are unplanned, driving roads you have never driven before.

First Wedding

I LOVED my experience of taking photos for Rachel and Yuriy's wedding. It was a small wedding. It was a beautiful experience. It had the perfect balance of carefree and organization.

Since I went right from the wedding into the 4-H Show, I had to delay my photo editing for several days. I was able to send Rachel and Yuriy a few sneak peaks of the First Look and Mr. & Mrs. I'm posting a few "extras" here that have not been edited, but are beautiful all the same.

Generations of love

Sassy Shoes

Super Wedding Party

When you are reading this, the 4-H Show is still going on. I scheduled this to post while I'm at the Show.
Thanks for praying for me!

Special Invitation

Several weeks ago I received a special invitation in the mail.
This was a 5th birthday party. Who can turn down an invitation like this?
One purely from the heart.

I was very blessed to be among three other little girls on the guest list.
We played Pin the Princess on the Castle, Hidden Shoe, Duck Duck Goose, Ladder Golf and we broke a piƱata

Instead of singing Happy Birthday, K requested that we blow the party favor 5 times.

Dear K,
Thanks so much for being my friend. I am glad you invited me to your birthday party and that I got to see you two weekends in a row!
Love ~ A

Happy Independence Day

John Adams

Second U.S. President and signer of the Declaration of Independence

In a letter written to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776

"The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more."

Do It Anyway

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motive. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building someone may destroy overnight. Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.
~Mother Teresa~
