Welcome in my blog....I am Captain America.

Hi, I am "Captain America."
E.H.B. is my big sister. She is at the doctor right now. Her mouth is red and bloody and no so cool. She puked two times in the night. (He means throat, not mouth.)
My little sister "Princess Ballerina" is at Kindergarden right now.
So A and I are writing a blog post.....very fun.

Do you like my picture? It was taken at Sherrie's birthday set up for the party.

Yesterday, as soon as I woke up I went down and woke up A. Then we had a sewing lesson. It was a fun time. My sisters were sleeping. We made a jar opener. A wants me to give it away, but I am still thinking. I want to keep it. I want to type a ?, but A tells me it is not a question, it is a statement.

I can speak English good. But I am in 1st grade and am still learning to write English. So A is helping me translate, so you can understand.

If I was not on spring break this week, I would have English in the 4th hour.

On our last day before spring break, our teacher told us she is having a baby. We cried because she is not coming ever and ever to our school back. :(

When a porcupine hears ants walking, it sounds like a storm. (That sentence took about 3 minutes for Captain America and I to figure out what he was trying to explain.)

I want A to teach me to sew a stuffed animal penguin. This morning I drew a picture of a penguin for A. Then A made me practice sewing big circles on paper. I did bad because I could never sew in the line. (He really did pretty good.)

We are going to make my penguin out of material. It is dark dark dark blue (Captain America doesn't know the word Navy). The tummy is white with polka dots. Yellow mouth, yellow feet, the eyes are buttons.

Captain America has been telling me THE END, over and over again for the last couple of paragraphs. Now is keeps asking me "When is the end? Tell me tell me when the end is."

He is ready to move on to the next adventure. We don't stay in one place very long.

Bloggers Reunite

E.H.B. and the crew have already had their refresher lesson on button sewing

E.H.B. has written my first German lesson. We are waiting a little longer before we begin that "fun."

We have added several items to our list of things to do.
And have checked off one of the items: go to a play.
Only 43 to go.

E.H.B. already told me she doesn't want me to go home.
She is very funny.

Jameson Hello Dublin

Even though I am not on my way to Dublin, I am very much enjoying their amenities. I have two hours to wait at the airport and the cute seating area next to the Jameson kiosk was calling my name. Their chairs are much more comfortable than the boarding lounge.

It is tucked away in a nice little corner where I can people watch but they don't really notice me.

I have been watching one guy pace up and down the corridor while talking on his cell phone.

It has been a long time since I flew out of Terminal 5. I'm impressed with the atmosphere here.

If I were a good blogger, I would have an interesting story to share. But truthfully, I am very thankful for the uneventful  leg of my journey.

I'm praying the next two legs are just as calm and peaceful.

I promise the next blog posts will have much more interesting stories. My co-blogger E.H.B. will help me with that.

For those readers who like the statistics of air travel.....
  • My checked suitcase was 1 KG UNDER weight.
  • My carry on was 10 KG OVER weight and thus became my second checked bag. Free of charge.
  • My backpack had to be weighed also, but they did not tell me how much it weighed. I am sure it was overweight because it has both my laptop and camera.

Drink Challenge

If you were challenged to give up soda and any drink that includes high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, the words "natural flavors" or "artificial flavors" and/or artificial colors, what would you drink?

Here is what I recommend.

Homemade Lemonade: Sugar, Lemons, Water, Ice
Homemade Lemonade

Fresh brewed Hot or Iced Tea with local honey
Favorite brands: Numi, PG Tips and Trader Joe English Breakfast and/or Mint
(My official favorite is a brand grown and sold in Germany, so it is not easily obtained for the majority of my readers.)

Orange Juice
Favorite brands: Florida's Natural 100% juice (NOT from concentrate), Uncle Matt's Organic Orange Juice

Strawberry Lemonade
Strawberry Lemonade

Welchs Grape Juice

That's my list. What's on yours?

Meet the baby party

I would like to introduce you to H2.
He was born on Tuesday, March 3, to my brother and his wife.
 H2 is their second son.
 He is my third nephew.
 And the fifth grandchild.

Big brother H is more interested in the new decorations in the nursery, then he is baby H2. I think they will grow up to be great playmates and buddies.

Big brother Deuce, returned home and went directly to the basement. I'm not sure if they have been introduced yet.

I wish I had more interesting stories to share about meeting H2. He slept most of the time and the only time he made a peep was when he whispered in my ear and said, "You will always be my favorite aunt."

Special guest

Look who came to visit me for the week.
When he is at my house (or anywhere around me) his name is Deucey. If my brother hears me babe-ify his name, he quickly corrects me. His name is just Deuce. As in two.

Deuce came over on Monday night, so his "mom" and "dad" could spend their time on more important matters. They were at the hospital welcoming their second son (my third nephew) to the world. Baby #2 is another H name. They did not consider the blogging challenges that will create. His initials are H.H.W. Maybe I will give him the blog ID of H2.

Don't worry. There will be pictures and stories of H2 on European Doorways, this weekend.

In the mean time, we will all have to settle for his doggie brother to "entertain" us.

Monday and Tuesday were very lovely with my house guest. He was staying calm, listening and following directions. He earned the privilege to have the whole basement to himself while I was at work, rather than being locked up in his crate.

I had early vball games both Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I made a quick stop by my house to let Duecey out, between work and the game. Tuesday night...perfect timing. Wednesday night....5 minutes too late.

Somehow, Deucey got the door open to my main floor. From the look of things, he made himself comfortable in my bed. And if I had to guess, as soon as he heard my car pull into the driveway, he completely emptied his bladder on my bed.

My white duvet, down feather comforter, white cotton blanket, light gray throw, sheets, mattress pad AND the top of the mattress were soaked.

No wonder he didn't rush out the door to go the bathroom.

I have never been more thankful for my Select Comfort mattress. The whole top of the mattress unzips and can be washed.

Load #1 went into the wash as I ran out the door to my volleyball game.

Load #2 went in the wash as I ran in the door and back out again to go see The Drop Box.

Load #3 is in right now and I am not staying up late enough to finish Load #4 tonight.

Needless to say, Deucey got put in his crate all night. I'm still deciding if he is going to get put in it tomorrow while I'm at work, or if I am just going to give him less water.

One thing that is for sure, I know exactly what I am going to ask my brother to get me for my birthday....a new down comforter.
